English: Chhau Dance is the martial form of folk dance in Purulia district of West Bengal and some adjoining districts too. In this dance form, the Masks are the main constituent of the costume to help identify the characters in the dance drama. Generations of people have been practising this folk art form in Charida village in Purulia District of West Bengal, India. Chhau Mask making is the only source of income for the families in the village.
